I reached out to the developer and he helped me troubleshoot but was ultimately told that the video drivers in Catalina had a restriction that was not in the previous OS and there was nothing that could be done, my machine just could no longer support 2560 x 1080.Then I tried switching from HDMI to Display Port and now everything works fine on my old MBP without SwitchResX.
